How Can You Block Porn Sites From Your PC

Local Swing Clubs Senior Women Dating    You may wish to block porn from your, or somebody else's, computer for a number of reasons. The main reason is for parents to protect their children from material they should not be looking at. The best way to block porn sites is by using a form of parental control software.
There are many options for parental control software out there, when you are deciding which to use to block porn you should check if it has website monitoring options, and an active blocking system so it can block sites on an ad hoc basis.
Good programs you get will come equipped with a packed database of sites that are already known to be porn and therefore avoided, while you can add 'safe' sites to a safe list as well, so you know which your children can use. If you get software that allows you to add sites to the list yourself you will be able to update the lists with known sites whenever you wish.
You may need software with a different criteria if you intend to block porn sites from an older child's PC. You will want one that allows you to cloak the software. This means your child will not be able to access the software and edit it themselves. You may see this listed as a 'stealth monitoring' option. This way even if your child knows what they are doing on a computer, they can not disable the stealth monitoring function.
Your child will likely frequent social networking sites like Facebook. They will also no doubt use some kind of instant messaging and email. With this the case you will want to get some software that will have a pro-active content filter, this way it can block porn as and when it arises. These sites could be used to send questionable images over, so you will need this pro-active ability.
So to sum up the following are things to look for in any software that claims to block porn sites.
1. Website blacklisting ability
This lets every site except those on the blacklist through to the computer.
2. Website whitelisting ability
This doesn't let any sites except those you have expressly given permission to, onto the computer.
This is the harshest form of parental control you can use, short of not letting your child onto the internet at all.
